Heppinn Biosciences helps clients identify therapeutic programs for investment, pressure-test the science, and build the companies and programs that carry therapies toward patients.
Heppinn engages across the full arc of a program — evaluating the opportunity, sharpening the story, raising the capital, and doing the work to move it forward. Engagements are fractional but always hands-on and deeply personalized to align with client needs.
Rigorous evaluation of assets, pipelines, and platform technologies — from discovery through late-stage clinical — to separate signal from noise before capital is committed.
Gap analysis, competitive differentiation, and positioning that clarify where a program wins, what it needs to prove, and how to get there efficiently.
Narratives, data packages, and presentation materials that translate complex science into a compelling investment opportunity. Leveraging our network, we then work with you to raise the capital needed for execution.
Operational leadership to drive R&D — advancing assets as needed from concept through candidate nomination, IND-enabling studies, and into the clinic.
Heppinn adds value at each stage of the development pathway — engagements can begin as early as the concept stage.
Research published in Nature, Cell, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Science Translational Medicine.
Heppinn works with the investors, founders, and biotechs you read about in the news — the people bringing new medicines to patients who suffer from neurological disorders. We have led R&D efforts across numerous therapeutic programs and evaluated hundreds more spanning every stage of development on behalf of clients across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Heppinn Biosciences was established to help clients find and diligence investment opportunities, start biotech companies around them, and develop therapeutics for neurological disorders. Brett is a neurobiologist with a 20-year track record in translational research, drug development, and company creation.
His work — enabled by the cross-disciplinary teams he has built and led — has advanced numerous assets from lead stage through candidate nomination, IND-enabling studies, and into clinical studies. Previously Executive Vice President of R&D at Magnolia Neurosciences and the first scientific hire at Ovid Therapeutics (NASDAQ: OVID), he retains an adjunct appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he led an independent lab, and serves on several advisory boards, including Combined Brain, Autism Speaks, and CureSHANK.
We rapidly connect clients to industry veterans with niche expertise — the kind of people who did it first, have seen it all, and routinely save development programs months or years of work. Reach out if you need expertise in data science, medicinal chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, CMC, clinical development, regulatory strategy, or something else. Our clients also benefit from a vetted list of CROs, groups we’ve worked with previously and who have delivered.
Whether you're diligencing an opportunity, raising a round, or building a company around a promising therapeutic — Heppinn can help.
